Dimension Data Ladies ProAm and Cape Town Ladies Open

The Dimension Data Ladies ProAm was a very fun tournament to play in! It was a team event where we played with a lady amateur golfer, as well as it being an individual competition. We also played alongside the men on the same courses with the same pin positions. So there were a lot of people, and a huge event. It was held at beautiful Fancourt in George on the Montagu and Outeniqua courses. I finished T-19th after a not so good third round. There were very early stars, and since I just made the cut I was out first the last day. 06.20 tee time meant getting up before 4am. It did not even get light until a quarter to 6, in which I and many other players had already been at the practice facility using our flashlights from our phones and the lights from cars to be able to see and hit the golf ball.

Whilst in George, we also went to Pinnacle Point one day to play. That course was an incredible experience and so much fun. The views were spectacular on every golf hole. It was definitely not a walking golf course, as we used 6 hours playing it in carts!! Definitely recommend playing there.

The Cape Town Ladies Open was held at Atlantic Beach Links. The course was really a links course, with huge bushes outside of the fw, so had to hit the tee shots straight! And there was so much wind it was insane. Do not think any of the players have played in those kinds of conditions before. I hit 7 iron from 95 meters, and was pin high. And punch 8 iron from 80m. So not exactly a wedge shot anymore! The scores were so abnormally high because even though it was hard to control the distance of the ball, putting was so much harder. The wind would steer the ball like crazy, making it hard to hole even those short 3ft putts. I finished T-5th, so another good performance.
