The Jabra Ladies Classic was held at Glendower Golf Club. Loved the course, and it was in such great shape. You had to hit it well from tee, as you were landing your tee shots at the narrowest spots in the fairway. Some of the holes also played long, and although it had tight and narrower landing zones, you were hitting driver because the hole would be too long if you hit a wood from the tee. I shot +1, +1 and hit 15 & 13 greens, and 12 & 9 fairways. The cut was 30 players out of 110, so it was tough to make it. I ended up being at -1. Although I played steady, I struggled with focus the first round because of energy and made some stupid mistakes. I definitely gave away at least 3 shots only that first round that really irritates me. It always sucks to miss a cut, and especially when you feel like you almost gave strokes away. After playing in a lot of wind last week, it was great to be back playing in more normal weather conditions, and feeling like you could actually make longer birdie putts on the greens.
I ended up finishing 7th on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit. I was in 3rd coming into this week, so also disappointing missing the cut and not getting any points. Would have been fun to get a high finish on the OOM. However, it was cool to be in that position, to know that if I did well this tournament I could have a chance to win the whole thing. Good learning experience. But the 7th place finish on the OOM secured me a spot into the next week´s LET event played at Modderfontein Golf Club, and the LET event after that as well, played at Steenberg Golf Club. Getting into these two LET events was the overall goal with coming down here to South Africa and play the Sunshine Tour events, so happy about accomplishing that!
