Terre Blanche Ladies Open and Santander Tour Team Event

After the South Africa swing I had a lot of “time off” (a full month), which I could use to really put in some good long-term development work at practice, (and I also got to do a small vacation). I left a few days earlier for France to be able to prepare a little longer on grass, after having been inside for almost a month. Although I did what I could to prepare, and I did play well during the practice rounds, I did not have the confidence and trust in my game that I wanted for the tournament. That showed on my scores. I played well in this tournament last year and I think I had higher expectations because of that. However, the course and playing conditions were very different this year. The greens were a lot firmer, which made it harder to get the ball super close to the hole, so I had fewer chances for birdie. They also had to cut the tournament down to two tournament days instead of three, because there was so much wind that the ball did not lay still on the greens. Although I wasn´t happy with my game at all this tournament because it just felt rusty, the majority of the players did not play well and the scores were surprisingly high. Apparently the course and weather conditions did impact the scores a lot.

Santander Tour Cadiz, Team event

The Santander tournament was a two day team event. First day we played best ball, and the second day foursome. I played with Maho Hayakawa and we had a lot of fun, and we both also played some very good golf! We finished in 3rd place which we were happy about, as the field also had some good LET players in it. We shot -5 for the best ball and -1 for the foursome. I came down to Spain a week prior to the event and stayed with Maho and we have been practicing together.

On the way to Cadiz we stopped by Seville and spent a few hours there. We both loved the city and I definitely recommend it! Hope to be back one day. We saw the cathedral, which also is the burial site of Cristopher Colombus. We also wanted to see the Alcazar, which is a kind of palace, but the tickets had to be booked in advance… Plaza de Espana was definitely the highlight and very cool to see. We also got to see live flamenco dancers there which was really cool as this is very typical to Seville.
